Your Eye Health in Best Hands

Eye surgery

We combine modern surgery, precise diagnostics and personal care from your first consultation through to follow-up.

Personal support throughout your care.

Your vision matters to us. We take time to make an accurate diagnosis, explain your options and choose the most appropriate treatment. Some conditions may require an outpatient procedure, such as an injection into the eye, cataract surgery or eyelid correction.

At our Savignyplatz medical care centre, these procedures take place in our own surgical unit. We provide personal care throughout, from your first consultation to surgery and follow-up appointments. As treatment is on an outpatient basis, patients can usually go home the same day.

We aim to provide safe, modern treatment tailored to you and the best possible outcome for your eye health.

An artificial lens replaces the cloudy natural lensCataract surgery at cataractCataracts usually develop as the eye’s lens ages. Typical symptoms are blurred vision, increased light sensitivity and less vivid colour perception.

If glasses or contact lenses no longer improve vision sufficiently, the cloudy lens is removed and replaced with a clear artificial lens. This can be chosen to suit your visual needs and also help correct refractive errors.

Modern techniques allow a gentle procedure under local anaesthetic, usually with a short healing period. Before surgery, we explain the tests, lens options and realistic visual goals in detail.

Retina and maculaMedication delivered into the eye (IVOM)In AMD or diabetic macular oedema, fluid can collect in the centre of the retina and affect vision.

An intravitreal injection delivers medicine directly into the eye to treat abnormal blood vessels. This minimally invasive outpatient procedure takes only a few minutes.

Treatment is repeated at intervals according to your condition. It is available at our Savignyplatz surgical centre and Greifswalder Straße practice. Our team provides diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.

Eyelids & Skin changesEyelid surgeryWe provide outpatient treatment for hooded eyelids, eyelid malposition and small skin changes around the eyes.

Blepharoplasty carefully removes excess upper eyelid skin along the natural crease. If loose skin limits the visual field, surgery may improve function as well as appearance.

An inward- or outward-turning lower eyelid, called entropion or ectropion, can irritate the cornea and conjunctiva and can be corrected with targeted treatment.

After medical assessment, chalazia, milia, papillomas, warts and certain other tissue changes can also be removed on an outpatient basis.

Retina, posterior capsule opacification, glaucoma & RCSLaser proceduresModern laser treatments precisely target different eye conditions, including micropulse laser for selected cases of central serous retinopathy.

Treatment of the retina

An argon laser can be used to seal retinal holes and target affected areas following vascular occlusions. The aim is to prevent complications such as retinal detachment and slow the progression of changes caused by diabetes or vascular disease.

Treating posterior capsule opacification

A YAG laser makes a small opening in a cloudy posterior lens capsule after cataract surgery. Treatment usually takes only minutes and is generally well tolerated.

Laser treatment for glaucoma

Selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) improves fluid drainage and can lower eye pressure. Other options, depending on the glaucoma type, include YAG iridotomy and cyclophotocoagulation (CPC).

Micropulse laser for central serous chorioretinopathy

For selected patients with persistent central serous chorioretinopathy (RCS/CCS), subthreshold micropulse treatment may be an option. Brief pulses of energy are intended to stimulate the retinal pigment epithelium without leaving a visible scar on the retina.

Stabilising the cornea and supporting healingOutpatient corneal surgeryCorneal disease or injury can cause discomfort, instability and lasting clouding.

Corneal Crosslinking

For keratoconus, UV light and a special treatment help stabilise the thin, bulging cornea. The procedure can slow or stop further progression.

corneal surface debridement

For recurrent corneal erosions or superficial opacities, the surface cell layer is carefully removed so healthy tissue can grow again.

Sutureless amniotic membrane treatment

A thin biological membrane can be placed directly on the damaged cornea. It supports regeneration and healing of severe damage without stitches.

Correcting higher refractive errorsPhakic posterior chamber lens, such as IPCLDepending on its approved indications, a phakic posterior chamber lens can correct short-sightedness, long-sightedness or astigmatism while leaving the natural lens in place. Special models are available for presbyopia, but long-term experience with these is more limited.

This may be an option when laser correction is unsuitable or cannot fully address a high prescription. The individually selected lens is placed precisely inside the eye through a small opening in an outpatient procedure.

The aim is better visual quality and less reliance on glasses or contact lenses. Careful assessment of the eye’s anatomy is essential.

We assess whether an IPCL is suitable for you through a detailed examination and personal consultation.

Microinvasive glaucoma treatmentiStent to reduce intraocular pressureAn iStent is a tiny implant that can improve the natural drainage of fluid from the eye.

For suitable cases of open-angle glaucoma, this micro-invasive procedure can complement existing treatment with a less invasive approach. It can often be combined with cataract surgery.

The aim is better long-term pressure control and, where possible, less reliance on pressure-lowering drops.

Before deciding together, we consider the glaucoma type, its history and your eye’s anatomy.
